We Thought 10–12 Business Days Was Too Long
Glass Factory USA started with a pretty straightforward question: Why should replacement glass take nearly two weeks?
At the time, glass companies throughout the area routinely depended on outside manufacturers to produce insulated glass units and other custom orders. Once the measurements were taken, the order was sent off and everyone waited. A turnaround time of 10–12 business days was considered normal.
The problem was that broken glass did not put anyone else’s life on hold.
A damaged window could leave a family worried about the security of their home. It could allow Arizona heat, dust, and noise inside. For a business, it could mean boarding up an opening, disrupting normal operations, or presenting customers with a storefront that looked unfinished. Ten business days might sound reasonable on a production schedule, but it feels much longer when your property is exposed.
We believed there had to be a better way.
Rather than continuing to rely entirely on outside manufacturers, we decided to build our own production operation. That meant investing in the equipment, people, and processes needed to manufacture custom glass locally, including insulated glass units made to the measurements of each project.
It was not an especially complicated idea: bring production closer to the customer, maintain better control over the work, and reduce the amount of time people spend waiting.
Today, that production capability remains at the heart of Glass Factory USA. Our team works directly with large glass sheets, specialized fabrication equipment, and custom measurements to produce glass for residential and commercial projects throughout Arizona.
Having our own production line allows us to oversee the process from the initial order through fabrication. It also gives us greater control over quality, scheduling, and communication instead of leaving those responsibilities in the hands of a distant supplier.
We are still guided by the same practical thought that started everything:
Why should this take two weeks if we can do it better?

Instead of relying on long supply chains and distant manufacturers, he wanted to create a local operation that could produce quality glass while keeping jobs, resources, and expertise close to home.
As CEO, Travis remains closely involved in the direction of the company.
